The Grey Ninja

I’ve mentioned her before. She is Octavia’s cat. A gorgeous Russian Blue who is horribly difficult to photograph in winter. Grey on grey.

But on Sunday when the sun put its hat on, and we were preparing to have lunch in Octavia’s small walled garden, I had my camera. The grey ninja isn’t used to cameras like mine and was curious as to what it was.

What is that?

What is that?

After some thought, she seemed to decide it was alright and smiled for the camera.

She used the runway Octavia had installed for Phoebe and Claud to make a graceful ascent to the sunshine on the top of the wall.

And then moved onto the neighbour’s windowsill.

Before coming back down to our level.

I am hoping I shall get more photos of her as the days get longer and brighter. She’s a stunner.

  1. Her favourite toy in the whole world is my printer. When she hears it she flies across the room, crouches in wait and then pounces on the paper as it appears. If I’m printing more than two pages I have to banish her from the room, or she instigates a paper jam.

  2. I saw the Grey Ninja last a week or two ago on the top of the wall working out how to catch the blackbird in the tree next door. Didn’t make it into the tree, though – too much like hard work. Less Ninja-like, more wuss.. but so pretty!

    • TBH the ginger ninja fails the fighting part of the ninja test too, but both he and the Grey One have the moves. And the Grey Tai Kwondo, or whatever the correct discipline might be, doesn’t have quite the same ring to it! Though I might work on that one. :)
