Mirror Image Seagull

A long time ago, someone told me that if I were an animal I should be a seagull. I think it was for the wheeling and flying rather than stealing people’s chips and picking over rubbish dumps, but you never know.

So maybe I could call this a mirror image?

  1. I do sometimes wonder why they are called Seagulls, as there are just as many, if not more, inland, and congregate in cities, almost more than on the coast. If somewhere needs clearing up, seagulls are the birds to do it.
If you want to get a good shot of them in flight, and close up, get someone to throw some bread in the air, near to you, you’ll get some incredible shots, Isobel.

    • I heard or read that the sea bit is a misnomer, and many gulls have never had a marine connection.
You know I was thinking much the same when Not Cat and watched a fox eating someone’s discarded Macdonalds last night. Crows do a brilliant housekeeping job too.

  2. I’ve always loved seagulls in flight – they are so graceful with their dips and swoops….I do believe I’ve seen more of them away from the water. While I live around 3 hours from the shore, I see droves of them squatting in big shopping center parking lots from time to time. Maybe waiting for the stores to open?

    Lovely seagul shot Isobel.
