Missing Summer

This photo seems to sum up this summer. A flower blooming against a dark background.

This Summer

The odd morning when you feel your skin warmed through your clothing by the sun has become a rare treat, not the normal occurrence of June and July. But with the rain everything is growing abundantly. So despite the gloom, flowers bloom, cherries ripen, grapes form on the vine.
Today is a sunny morning. The herald, they say of a week of rising temperatures. I had a look at the forecast. On Tuesday it is set for 29°C in London. That’s the day I fly to Belfast where it is due to be a much cooler 16°C….

    • It is gorgeous today. All the windows are wide open and the shutters are across tem as himself has come in, worn out by the heat. He’s sleeping upside down in the sofa.
