Snow Fox January 23, 2013 by Isobel This morning, just before eight, as the sky was getting lighter, I saw this cold fox on the top of the wall. Cold Fox Despite it’s thick coat, it was evidently felling the cold. It is snowing again now, I hope it has a warmer den for tonight. Share this:TwitterPinterestEmailLike this:Like Loading...
I love how the dark guard hairs are creating a halo. I feel sorry for all animals who have to live outside when it is this cold. Reply
I bet he is getting warmth from the stone wall. I know that my dry stone wall soaks up a lot of heat during the day. What a beautiful photo. Reply
Curled up like he is he’s certainly saving as much heat within his “curl” as he can….hopefully it’s just the warmth of the wall keeping him and tonight he’ll find more reasonable accommodation! Pam Reply
Aw, poor thing. Hope it does find warmer accommodation for tonight.
out in the open isn’t warm–I wonder why he (?) isn’t burrowed in the bushes somewhere?

You can see why s/he has the bushy tail, can’t you?
He must have a dense undercoat but even so . . .
Quite.
How wonderful. To see a ild animal at such peace with man!!
I think she’s cold!
Poor thing. Could you put some sort of kennel in the garden for them?
Other flat owners would go ape…
I think she has one eye on you Isobel.
I think you are right. No sign of her today.
Awe, I would invite him in, but I think Atticus would disagree.
S/he probably has fleas…
