The walls around our shared garden are Victorian, and were the walls of the steamworks and laundry that used to be on the site.
They’re beautiful, and are one of the things I like best about where I live.
The walls feature frequently in my photographs, often, as here, as a backdrop for flowers and animals.

That’s a very productive vine!
Yes and very tasty grapes!
I’ve always wanted a walled garden. Those bricks have great character 🙂
It’s wall porn. They are lovely, and there are traces of different colour paints; palimpsests that reveal a little of their history.
Yes. Fascinating and wonderful to have that connection with the past.
It must be wonderful having your own walled garden, Isobel. Lovely photos, particularly of MasterB being Lord of all he surveys.
If only it were completely my own Lyn. But it does make living here a bit special.
They ARE beautiful! I recall a few pictures of MasterB on top of the walls of the garden. Those are grapes? Very nice!
Aren’t they just? Unbelievably some of my neighbours would like to paint them. The grapes are from a vine in a neighbou’s garden, but we have the south facing wall!
What beautiful photos, showing very beautiful walls. Nice interpretation of this theme, Isobel.
Thansk Pat.
love these walls! they do make for a wonderful backdrop for that vine – and for MasterB, too. thanks for sharing.
